Big Thief drummer and producer James Krivchenia has announced a new solo album, Performing Belief, due out on May 2 via Planet Mu. It’s the follow-up to 2022’s Blood Karaoke, and it includes contributions from jazz bassist Sam Wilkes and multi-instrumentalist Josh Abrams (of Natural Information Society). See the cover art and tracklist below.

The first single, which features Wilkes, is “Probably Wizards,” an experimental instrumental track. Hear it below.

Krivchenia has also announced his first-ever solo show, happening at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere Zone One on June 17. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 21 at 10 AM.
