I’m here to give you an in-depth look at the best free bets loyal punters can expect right now. 1. bet365 bet365 70% accumulator bonus Football acca boost Applies to pre-match accumulators of 2+ selections on standard Full Time Result, Both Teams To Score or Result/Both Teams To Score markets only. Exploring different types of betting offers for existing customers
Once you’ve registered an account with an online sportsbook and gone past the welcome bonus, it’s time to explore different types of betting offers since you’re now an existing customer. This is when the real journey begins. Below, I’ll introduce you to, and explain, the most common promos you could have access to as a returning player.
Free bets for existing customers
Free bets basically imply the bookie puts up the stake. This means that if you place a free bet, you only get to keep the winnings. Since the betting site is fronting the money there will most likely be terms and conditions attached to what happens with the winnings. Free bets that don’t require a deposit are particularly appealing but not as common.
Money back free bet
This offer is getting more and more popular among bookies. The deal with a money-back free bet is that you often have to place a risky bet, like a preset acca, and if it doesn’t pay out, then you will get your money back as the stake of a free bet or several free bets depending on the specifications. As always, free bets come with their own limitations so be sure to read up on the terms first.
Best odds guaranteed (BOG)
If you come across a market to bet on with the letters BOG on it, then you can rest assured that you’re guaranteed the best odds available applied to your winning bet. Your sportsbook will let you know which other bookies they will compare odds against before you place your bet.
Enhanced odds
Enhanced or boosted odds are applied to certain events chosen by your sportsbook. The bookie will simply inflate the potential payout artificially. kwiff is fast making a name for itself by boosting odds randomly after players have placed their bets to multiply potential winnings with massive multipliers.
Acca insurance
First, you need to know that an acca (short for accumulator) is a bet with multiple outcomes (legs) on the same slip. If only one leg fails, the whole stake is lost. With Acca Insurance, then one leg can fail and you will still get a reward. This offer can vary between bookies. Some might return a portion of your stake as bonus money or you could even get your entire stake back as one or more free bets.
Free-to-play games
In my experience, only the biggest and best betting sites can afford to offer free-to-play games since they normally don’t require a deposit to participate in. A great example is the football predictor competition offered by Unibet.
Reward/loyalty schemes
Loyal players are always asking for special treatment and extra rewards, and rightly so, in my opinion. Some bookies offer automatic membership to their loyalty schemes while others are by invitation only.
What these schemes have in common is a level-up system based on points earned during a certain period (normally a month). Points are earned from wagering and can be exchanged for different kinds of rewards.
Things to look out for with free bets for existing customers
As I always say, all that glitters isn’t gold, just like free bets aren’t always necessarily truly free. Let me walk you through a few things to look out for with free bets once you’ve become an existing customer. Regardless of any offer, you should always read the full terms and conditions before claiming it. These are the most common terms to watch out for:
- Minimum stake
It’s just what it sounds like. If you bet less than the minimum stake to qualify for the free bet offer, it won’t count. Your bet may still be valid for all other intents and purposes but always double-check your stake before you click to place your bet. - Minimum odds
Just like your stake, make sure the odds or combined odds on your bet slip are what’s required from the terms and conditions. This is extra important to check twice when you’re betting on accas with multiple legs. - Eligible bets
Sometimes you may be required to bet on pre-match odds and other times only in-play bets count. Also, make sure you’re betting on the right sport, market, tournament, etc. One mistake means that you’re no longer eligible to receive the free bet. - Maximum winnings
Bookies are the ones who front the stakes for all free bets so to ensure that they don’t go out of business, winnings from free bets can be capped. - Expiry date/Validity period
This is one of the most important items on this list. It would be a shame to receive a free bet and lose it because it expired. The duration for which a free bet is valid can differ greatly depending on the bookie. If the bet is only valid as a live bet for a specific event, make sure you will be available to place your bet.
How to claim existing customer-free bets
After you have registered and logged into your sportsbook, there will be a section in your account where you can find your available rewards.
This is where all free bets end up once you’ve fulfilled all requirements to get them. Simply click the button that allows you to claim it and now it’s ready to be used.
How I rate bookmakers’ existing customer offers
First and foremost, I rate bookmakers’ offers for existing customers based on how transparent the terms and conditions are. If it looks like I need a law degree to figure out the requirements to claim and use an offer, it’s probably not worth my time.
Cash rewards without strings attached are the best ones. What you win you should be allowed to keep.
Lastly, I look at how easy it is to use the reward. For example, if I win a live-free bet on a boxing match that takes place in Australia, it might not be possible for me to actually use it due to the time difference.
Which bookie gives the most free bets?
From my list of bookies up top, it looks like 10bet, BetUK, Betway, and Unibet are giving away the most free bets. William Hill also gets a notable mention.
It all comes down to participating in promotions. Free bets aren’t going to find their way to your rewards section on their own.
Can you withdraw free bets?
You’ll never be allowed to withdraw the stake of a free bet since this is fronted by the bookie. You may however be allowed to withdraw the winnings of your free bet after the stake has been returned. I say “may” because every sportsbook has rules for the minimum withdrawal limit.
