In case you were wondering who Ben Affleck or Jon Bernthal would name on their hypothetical Mount Rushmore of rappers, the actors have now answered the question – see who he named below.

Earlier this month (April 13), an AI rendering of white rappers on Mount Rushmore went viral. It included EminemMac Miller, Paul Wall and Russ and went sparked debate among music lovers on who the four best white rappers are.

The post also prompted a new trend, with social media users sharing their own lists – not only limited to rap. Now, Ben Affleck and Bernthal – stars of The Accountant 2 – have discussed their list of the greatest rappers of all time.

During a chat for COMPLEX recently, the two were asked to name the four rappers they’d place on Mount Rushmore. Affleck answered first, pondering if he should go historical or include modern rappers. He eventually settled on Lil Wayne, Eazy E, Slick Rick and Kendrick Lamar, but noted that while he’s happy with his picks, the list was entirely off the top of his head. He also said Tupac is his “all-time GOAT”.

Bernthal’s list comprises of Biggie, Tupac, Eazy E and Kendrick. The two then discussed other rappers who could make the list, namedropping the likes of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, N.W.A. and Gang Starr.

Affleck then spoke of his son playing him a song recently, asking if he’d heard it. The song in question was Tupac’s ‘Hit Em Up’ and elicited the following reaction from Affleck: “Have I heard this? Motherfucker, who do you think I am? I had a whole life I fuckin’ lived before you. I’ve heard music, what do you think I was doing before you were born?”

Machine Gun Kelly earlier this month responded to the viral white rapper Mount Rushmore post, arguing that he should’ve gotten a spot: “Me not on the white rapper mt rushmore is blasphemy.” Although he has delved into various genres during his career, MGK started his career as a rapper on his 2012 debut ‘Lace Up’ and follow up ‘General Admission’.

Since 2020’s Travis Barker produced ‘Tickets To My Downfall‘, however, the musician has been more focused on pop-punk and rock.

In a glowing five-star review of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘GNX’NME‘s Kyann-Sian Williams wrote: “Lamar channels what could be interpreted as hate and negativity into a teachable moment, leading you to draw upon the purest emotion known to man: love. In a year that started with so much venom, Kendrick Lamar shares the antidote on ‘GNX’.”
