Avengers: Doomsday Films Back To Back With Secret Wars And Begins Filming April

Some official Marvel news today that Avengers: Doomsday will film back to back with Secret Wars and it begins filming in April. We knew filming was close with sets being built and actors in London. However, initially the Russos said they hoped not to film both films back to back. That appears to have changed.

“It’s all in London, we’re shooting them fairly back-to-back, it’s a lot of work again, we may or may not survive, we’ll see. But we’re very excited about it. We found a way into the story that we think is gonna be challenging for audiences, it’s challenging for us to execute. And it’s really exciting for us, it gets us out of bed to do it.”

Asked if we’d see X-Men or anyone else they could mention?

“Who knows? I don’t know. I don’t know who we’re gonna see, I still don’t know.” Anthony then chimed in to joke, “If you close your eyes and use your imagination, you can see anyone you want. Whoever tickles your fancy.”

All we know so far as officially is that Robert Downey Jr. will play Doctor Doom in both movies. Rumors wise, we’ve heard almost everyone is back, but who knows for sure? A lot of early rumors, when the film was The Kang Dynasty, will now be invalid. Though, there are some new rumors linked above. With filming beginning April, casting will for sure be underway for smaller/new roles. It’s a good bet any previous Avengers you see around London in the next month is in though.

It had previously been announced by Marvel yesterday that filming begins on Doomsday this April. Avengers: Doomsday releases May, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars arrives a year later in May, 2027.
