Star Wars has no shortage of memorable villains, but by far the most iconic has always been and always will be Darth Vader. From the moment the samurai-inspired Sith Lord hijacked Leia's (Carrie Fisher) transport with James Earl Jones' equally iconic voice and breathy rasp, Darth Vader has been a staple of pop culture, and the recent re-release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sithis a healthy reminder of why. Aside from restoring audiences' disturbing lack of faith in the Hollywood box office, the re-release returns the franchise to the villain's horrific origins, and in doing so, the best film of George Lucas' prequel trilogy also dispels a popular misunderstanding about Vader's first appearance that has arisen since the movie's initial release.
