American Airlines announced changes to its Million Miler program in December (read more here), expanding it to allow AAdvantage members to earn lifetime Platinum Pro and Executive Platinum tiers.

AAdvantage members previously had only access to Lifetime Gold (Oneworld Ruby) and Platinum (Oneworld Sapphire), but these new lifetime tiers map to Oneworld Emerald.

You can access AA’s page for the AAdvantage elite program here.

American Airlines Lifetime Requirements:

Gold (Oneworld Ruby) = 1 million miles

Platinum (Oneworld Sapphire) = 2 million miles

Platinum Pro (Oneworld Emerald) = 4 million miles

Executive Platinum (Oneworld Emerald) = 5 million miles

Concierge Key (Oneworld Emerald) = Not possible

American Airlines has now processed these lifetime tiers to eligible AAdvantage accounts.

You can check your lifetime tier progress on AA’s website:

Note that only flown American Airlines marketed flights count towards the lifetime requirement (at one point, all miles deposited counted, as well as those from partner programs).

United Lifetime Requirements:

1 million             Premier Gold

2 million             Premier Platinum

3 million             Premier 1K®

4 million             United Global Services®

Delta Lifetime Requirements:

1 million             Gold Medallion

2 million             Platinum Medallion

3 million             Diamond Medallion

5 million             Delta 360

Conclusion

Delta and United allow you to earn their Concierge Key level lifetime tier, but American doesn’t. Also, the jump between Platinum (2) and Platinum Pro (4M) is too high.

I managed to get the 2M a while back when all partner transactions counted towards the lifetime status. I won’t ever make it to the 4M level, as only AA-marketed flights count; otherwise, this would perhaps have been remotely possible.
