8 Best MacBook Touchscreen Monitors: Tested and Reviewed

1. ASUS ZenScreen MB16AHG — Overall Best Touchscreen Monitor for Mac (Editor’s Choice)

ASUS ZenScreen MB16AP

Overall Best Touch Screen Monitor for Mac

Screen Size: 14 Inches | Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Pixels | Refresh Rate: 60 Hz

The first thing that struck me about the ASUS ZenScreen MB16AHG is how immersive it is. But it’s not just about the display quality– I’m also swayed by its functionality, portability, and of course, the touch responsiveness that makes it a perfect digital canvas for graphic designers, architects, engineers, and numerous other professionals.

To begin with, the 144Hz refresh rate, paired with FreeSync Premium, made everything on the screen come alive. My digital art, 3D designs, and edits looked so much better– vibrant and sharp. This monitor has given a serious boost to the quality of my work.

On top of that, its lightweight design at just 0.92kg and sleek protective sleeve let me easily take it anywhere. No matter where I am, this monitor seamlessly fits into my on-the-go lifestyle, making my creative tasks even more enjoyable.

One of the features that I love most about the ZenScreen is its automatic screen orientation. When I rotate the monitor from landscape to portrait mode, the screen automatically adjusts to the new orientation. This makes it easy to switch between different tasks and applications, such as working on documents, designing graphics, or editing videos.

The ZenScreen’s built-in stand is also very versatile. I can use it to prop up the monitor on my desk for a comfortable viewing angle, or I can use it to display the monitor during presentations or online classes. It also has a threaded socket on the back, which allows me to mount it on a tripod or other mounting system.

ASUS’s Eye Care technology certified by TÜV Rheinland is designed for people like me who spend lots of time in front of a screen. It minimizes eye strain, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience. So whether I am analyzing data or writing, I can work longer without worrying about my eyes.

While the ZenScreen excels in many areas, the absence of built-in speakers was a real downer for me and would be especially so for professionals like musicians and sound engineers. They may require an alternative audio setup for their compositions and edits.

Using the ASUS ZenScreen MB16AHG has overall been a great experience. As someone juggling multiple tasks, I found it really effective and reliable in optimizing my workflow. It not only lets me work better but also longer. The only thing I wish for is built-in speakers.

PROS CONS
➕ Stunning 15.6” FHD IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate. ➖ The absence of built-in speakers may require additional audio arrangements.
➕ Adaptive stand and screen orientation. ➖ Auto-rotate functionality is currently limited to Windows OS.
➕ Certified safeguard against eye strain.
➕ USB-C and mini HDMI ports for varied device compatibility.

2. Lenovo – Corporate Monitor M14T A20140FX0 — Best Mac Touchscreen Monitor for Graphic Designers

Best Touchscreen Monitor Mac for Designing

Screen Size: 14 Inches | Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Pixels | Refresh Rate: 60 Hz

The Lenovo ThinkVision M14t’ 14-inch Full-HD touchscreen and pressure-sensitive active pen really helped me in my complex graphic design work. The visuals were clear and the pen made the design very smooth and precise.

For starters, I really enjoyed viewing my work on its Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The WLED backlighting technology, coupled with a brilliant 300 Nit brightness, made my work appear crisp and vibrant.

On top of that, the 10-point touch-enabled touchscreen and 4096 pressure-level active touch pen further made it easier to design and animate. It’s something animators and game developers would find really useful.

It’s also a great monitor to carry around– thanks to its lightweight and portable design. It can serve as an extended or duplicate display for laptops and compatible mobile devices. This has allowed me to work creatively anywhere.

“One really impressive thing about the ThinkVision M14t, which we also saw in the original M14, is its color-gamut coverage, which is unusually good for a portable monitor.” (PC Mag)

But on the flip side, I found its exclusive USB-C connectivity rather limiting. This is why you won’t be able to use it efficiently with devices with limited ports– unless you invest in a USB hub.

I’m also not a fan of the glossy finish on the screen as it tends to get too reflective in certain lighting conditions. But that’s nothing an anti-reflective screen protector can’t solve.

For me, the M14t stood out as a versatile monitor that enhances my creative and technical work, while offering an accurate, and dynamic display. This Mac touch screen monitor is a must-have for professionals like graphic designers, animators, and developers who seek a seamless and tactile interaction with the digital world.

PROS CONS
➕ Ultra-high-definition display ensures meticulous detail in every project. ➖ Exclusivity of USB-C ports may require additional adaptors or hubs for varied connectivity.
➕ 10-Point touch functionality and pressure-sensitive active pen offer unprecedented control and precision. ➖ The glossy screen may be subject to reflections in brightly lit environments.
➕ Lightweight and portable design ensures a flexible workspace wherever you go. ➖ A slightly premium price point may be a consideration for budget-conscious professionals.
➕ WLED backlighting technology and 300 Nit brightness present crisp and vivid visuals.

Best Mac for Office Use

Screen Size: 15.6 | Resolution: 1080p | Refresh Rate: 60 Hz

The ViewSonic TD1655 is a 15.6-inch, Full HD IPS touchscreen monitor that I’ve found to be perfectly designed for office work. The monitor is portable and functional which made my digital interactions very easy as I was able to connect from anywhere.

For starters, equipped with a 10-point touch, this ViewSonic monitor not only displays my work in high quality but also offers a responsive canvas. Due to its advanced touchscreen, every brush stroke feels like sketching on paper which made it very convenient for me to modify my projects.

With IPS Panel Technology every line of code and every detail in my 3D animations is as crisp as it can be even from different angles. Also, the seamless touchscreen functionality has made my work more interactive.

Also, the monitor just weighs 2 lbs and is 0.6 inches thick making it easy for me to carry it around while traveling. And with 2-Way Power with USB Type-C, I don’t have to worry about finding the wall socket anymore for charging the monitor. It gives me the freedom to work from anywhere.

However, as an Apple user, I have to put in extra effort in installing additional software to get the touchscreen just right. And while the built-in speakers are pretty decent, I have to plug in my external speaker or headphones for better audio.

All in all, I found the ViewSonic TD1655 to be a great MacBook touchscreen monitor for office use. It is a highly portable touchscreen and perfect for extending my digital workspace. Despite a few drawbacks, it’s an ideal solution for on-the-go presentations, data interaction, and collaborative work.

PROS CONS
➕ Lightweight and compact design ensures ease of transport. ➖ Apple touchscreen may require additional software for optimal touchscreen utility with Apple products.
➕ Dual USB Type-C, mini HDMI, and 3.5mm headphone jack cater to various input needs. ➖ Built-in speaker quality may not satisfy professionals seeking high-fidelity audio output.
➕ Enhances functionality and interaction with displayed content.
➕ Full HD with IPS technology ensures clarity from all viewing angles.

Best for Intuitive Touch Experience and Versatile Connectivity

Screen Size: 21.5 Inches | Resolution: 1920 x 1080 | Touch Points: 10

For professionals and creatives who need a responsive and intuitive touchscreen experience, the Dell S2240T 21.5″ Touchscreen Monitor offers a smooth and natural interaction. With 10-point multi-touch capability, this display allows users to tap, swipe, pinch, and zoom with ease—perfect for design work, presentations, and collaborative environments.

One of its standout features is the edge-to-edge glass panel, which provides a clean and seamless touch experience. The Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution delivers crisp visuals, while the 3,000:1 contrast ratio enhances image clarity and depth. The 178° wide viewing angle ensures that colors and details remain consistent, even when viewed from different positions.

The ergonomic stand is another highlight, allowing the monitor to tilt up to 60°, making it more comfortable for interactive use. Whether you’re sketching, editing, or navigating through applications, this flexible design enhances usability.

Connecting to a Mac is simple, thanks to its HDMI, DVI, and VGA ports. However, to enable touch functionality on macOS, a third-party driver like TouchBase UPDD may be required.

On the downside, the 25ms response time may feel slow for fast-paced gaming or video editing. Additionally, while it features edge-to-edge glass, the glossy screen might produce reflections in brightly lit environments.

For those looking for a highly interactive and touch-friendly monitor, the Dell S2240T stands out as a versatile and reliable option that seamlessly blends responsive touch control with stunning visuals.

➕ Ergonomic tilt stand (up to 60°) for comfortable touch interaction ➖ Requires third-party driver for full macOS touch functionality

For those looking to add touch functionality to their MacBook setup without breaking the bank, the Planar Helium PCT2235 is an excellent option. This level of adjustability is particularly useful for creative professionals and educators who need an ergonomic setup.

The multiple connectivity options—including DisplayPort, HDMI, and VGA—ensure compatibility with a variety of devices, though MacBook users will need an adapter for USB-C connection. Additionally, integrated speakers provide an extra layer of convenience for video calls or media playback without needing external audio devices.

While the monitor is officially Windows-compatible, macOS users can still use it for basic touchscreen functions. However, for full gesture support, third-party drivers may be required. 6. Asus ProArt Display — Best Portable Touchscreen Monitor for Macbook Pro

Best Portable Monitor for Mac

Screen Size: 14 | Resolution: 1080P | Refresh Rate: 60 Hz

As a traveling graphic designer, the 14-inch full HD screen of the Asus ProArt Display offered clear and vibrant visuals irrespective of my working environment. But why I really like this monitor is for its super portable design and 1.63 lbs weight– making it perfect for on-the-more use.

In terms of performance, the Asus ProArt Display was like a color wizard, right out of the box. I never had to worry about the accuracy of my colors, the consistency of my brightness, or the sharpness of my details. This is all thanks to the monitor’s full sRGB and Rec. 709 gamut that ensured my work always looked its best.

The anti-glare panel further protected my eyes from strain, no matter where I used the monitor. If you’re as picky about your displays as I am, you’ll appreciate the comfortable viewing experience.

Additionally, the 10-point multitouch feature of the monitor helped me to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. At the same time, the integrated ASUS Dial was a convenient feature for swiftly adjusting settings without interrupting my creative workflow.

As a graphic designer who often hops between my laptop, tablet, and phone, the USB Type-C ports and Micro HDMI port on this monitor were a lifesaver. They make it so easy to connect to all of my devices, so I can seamlessly work from one device to another.

On the flip side, I found the 14-inch size and resolution of this monitor a bit limiting at times. However, I love using it as a secondary display for color-critical work, as accurate colors and wide viewing angles are essential for my workflow. Not to mention it’s a small price to pay for great portability.

As a professional graphic designer who frequently travels for work, the Asus ProArt Display is essential in my toolkit. Its small size and portability make it easy to take with me wherever I go, while its excellent color precision ensures that my work always looks its best.

PROS CONS
➕ 14-inch size and lightweight (1.63 pounds) allows easy transportation. ➖ A 14-inch screen might be restrictive for some applications.
➕ ΔE < 2 across 100% sRGB and Rec. 709, perfect for professional visual work. ➖ Max 1080p might not cater to tasks demanding higher resolution.
➕ Multiple I/O ports facilitate connections to various devices.
➕ 10-point multitouch and ASUS Dial for an interactive and streamlined workflow.

Best for On-the-Go Productivity and Entertainment

Screen Size: 15.6 Inches | Resolution: 1920 x 1080 | Touch Points: 10-Point Capacitive Touch

For those who need a compact and versatile touchscreen monitor for their MacBook, the CAPERAVE 15.6″ Portable Touchscreen Monitor is an excellent travel-friendly option. Featuring 10-point capacitive touch, it allows you to add touch functionality to your MacBook without the need for extra drivers. Simply connect via USB-C (DP ALT-MODE or Thunderbolt 3/4) for a seamless experience with power, video, and touch all through one cable.

Its Full HD IPS panel ensures vibrant colors and wide 178° viewing angles, making it a great choice for watching videos, gaming, or working on creative projects. The blue light reduction and flicker-free technology help minimize eye strain, making it comfortable for long hours of use.

One of its best features is its lightweight and ultra-slim design, which makes it easy to carry in a bag or suitcase. Whether you’re a digital nomad, student, or gamer, this portable monitor is a convenient second screen that enhances your workflow wherever you go. The built-in kickstand offers adjustable viewing angles, while the integrated speakers provide basic audio support without the need for external speakers.

Connectivity is also a strong point, with full-size HDMI and USB-C ports, allowing you to connect not just to a MacBook, but also to gaming consoles (PS4/5, Xbox, Switch), mobile phones, and desktops.

The main downside is that touch functionality only works via USB-C (not HDMI alone), so older MacBooks without USB-C may require an adapter. Also, while the built-in speakers are a nice addition, they may not provide the best sound quality for immersive experiences.

For MacBook users who need a lightweight, high-quality touchscreen monitor for travel and productivity, the CAPERAVE 15.6″ Portable Monitor is a fantastic choice that balances portability, versatility, and affordability.

PROS CONS
➕ 10-point capacitive touch for smooth and accurate interaction ➖ Touch only works via USB-C (HDMI alone won’t enable touch)

8. Acer UT222Q — Best Gaming Touchscreen for Mac

Acer UT222Q
Acer UT222Q: Image credits Amazon

Best MacBook Touchscreen Monitor for Gamers

Screen Size: 21.5 | Resolution: 1920 x 1080 | Refresh Rate: 165 Hz

The Acer UT222Q is not only an outstanding monitor for work but I also enjoyed gaming on it– making it a great fit for game developers, gamers, video editors, and so on. Here is how it elevated my work and play experience:

To begin with, the 21.5-inch Full HD screen looked fantastic. The 1920 x 1080 resolution delivered crisp and vivid visuals, allowing me to see fine details in my work clearly. My design experience was also made seamless and intuitive with its 10-point touch functionality. The best part was its ergonomic design which fit my workspace perfectly.

As someone who enjoys gaming in my downtime, AMD FreeSync Technology on this monitor was a godsend. It helped me avoid those irritating screen stutters and tearing problems during gameplay. This feature made sure my monitor and graphics card stayed in perfect sync. And if you are a video editor, that’s a major plus!

The monitor’s wide range and tiltable stand, combined with its 5ms G to G responsiveness, made it super easy for me to adjust it for any working position. It reacted in a flash to every touch which made it perfect for my interactive presentations and collaborative work.

I also loved the “ZeroFrame” design of this monitor. When I was dealing with any kind of data analysis, it ensured I got a clear, clutter-free view that went all the way to the edges. It was a super clean and neat experience.

However, in terms of quality, something felt amiss to me. I mean, don’t get me wrong. This monitor works great but something about its design and build feels a bit flimsy. I definitely expected better quality for this price.

Also, the included USB-C cable is almost useless due to its short length. And I don’t quite get why Acer has used VGA for this monitor in an era dominated by HDMI monitors. Still, these minor issues are not a deal breaker.

Overall, I found the Acer UT222Q to be a great touchscreen gaming monitor for a MacBook. It boosted my workflow with its touch functionality and other productivity-centric features. And after work, I have really enjoyed gaming on it– making it perfect for both work and play.

PROS CONS
➕ AMD FreeSync Technology for a seamless visual experience. ➖ The build quality feels slightly cheap.
➕ 10-point touch functionality enhances interactive usage. ➖ Does not support a power supply over a USB-C connection, which might somewhat limit portability.
➕ Durable, large range tilt-able stand.
➕ Full HD and “ZeroFrame” design maximize clarity and view.
